If you have a Youtube channel, then I am sure you are often wondering how to make more money.
When you see some Youtubers out there making more than a full-time income you wonder why you aren’t. Though growing your Youtube channel is tricky, you’ve already gotten the hard part out of the way.
Making money is the easy part. And that is because there are a lot of different ways to make money off of Youtube besides the ads.
This article is for those who already have a channel making money, but want to grow their revenue. Here are some ways you can make more money.
Increase your views
Take a step back and look at your videos through somebody else’s eyes. Look critically and see if there is a way to improve your videos.
Since Youtube is so personal and doesn’t have layers of personnel that a video has to pass, it is easy to miss a lot of opportunities for improvement. What I mean by that is there is no editor that makes final decisions. If your videos have room for improvement then you can make them better and see your viewership rise.
You can improve the videos by adding some payers of professionalism by using a service like Promo.com. Better quality videos will end up with longer view times and engagement which the algorithm will love.
Create an ebook
The absolute best way to make more money is to leverage the viewers and subscribers you already have to sell your own product. Ads are not the only way to make money. In fact, I think they are the worst way to make money on Youtube.
Instead of relying on ad money, you can keep more of the profit from your videos. Create an ebook about your niche.
For instance, if you have a photography channel, then you can write an ebook about photography for beginners. Or, how to use filters for dramatic effects. Whatever you think your audience would like to learn, you can teach them and sell the book on your website and keep a huge amount of profit.
Create a class
Let’s stick with the photography theme to use as an example. Many people learn from watching. They might appreciate the lessons to learn from an ebook, but prefer a class.
Create a website that has a membership to a series of classes along with a forum so you can teach people how to take better pictures. Chances are that your subscribers really like your photography style and would love to learn from you about how to take better pictures.
A membership site where you do video lessons is a great way to make a recurring income that is totally passive. All you have to do once the classes are complete is keep turning out great content on your channel and see your membership rates rise.
If you don’t have the time or desire to create your own products or your niche isn’t ideal to create classes, then try affiliate marketing.
You’ll essentially do the same thing as if you had your own product. You’ll build your audience and sell them on other people’s offers. For instance, you can link to products you think your audience will like on Amazon and receive a commission if they buy. You just need to sign up for their partner program to get a tracking code. That’s it.
Amazon is not the only one either. There are thousands of e-commerce stores that offer the same type of program. Maybe your photography channel would be better off sending traffic to a different merchant that has more specialized equipment and offers a better commission rate.
Set up a Patreon page
If you have read this far only to be dismayed because your niche is not conducive to selling products, then fear not. There is another way.
You can ask people to sponsor you by creating a Patreon page. Let’s say you have a channel where you talk about history. You may be able to have people give to your Patreon page so they can keep getting more of the content they love. Devoted fans will have no problem contributing to making sure that your channel makes enough to justify creating more content.
The only problem is that only a small percentage of your viewers will contribute so you may not make a lot. It will be more than you make by only using ads, however.
